Live in Sharswood

A PLACE TO CALL HOME IN SHARSWOOD

Sharswood is undergoing one of the greatest transformations in Philadelphia history.

In a once-forgotten neighborhood, more than 1,200 affordable housing units are either planned, completed or under construction as part of PHA’s Sharswood Blumberg Choice Neighborhood Transformation Plan.

New investment is bringing greater housing choices and better opportunities into this neighborhood. Energy-efficient apartments and townhouses now are open and under construction. Dilapidated buildings have given way to brand new sidewalks, new lighting, and apartment homes featuring picture windows, secure package delivery, personal storage lockers, and well-equipped gathering spaces with wide-screen TVs.

The $52 million commercial and residential center, Sharswood Ridge, serves as a vibrant community hub, a place residents where can shop for groceries at the Grocery Outlet and mingle with neighbors.  A bank, urgent care center, restaurant and apartments will complete the development, which is along the business corridor.

Sharswood is conveniently located, less than two miles from downtown and the heart of Philadelphia’s  business and cultural districts.
